In 1983, Burlingame High School established an Alumni of the Year to recognize graduates for their professional achievements and personal contributions to improving the lives of others and society. Graduates inducted demonstrate outstanding personal and professional qualities in their accomplishments. Nominations may be made by alumni, parents, current BHS students, faculty, staff, or school district administrators.
All who are graduates of Burlingame High School for at least ten years at the time of their nomination. Graduates in all walks of life are included, such as the armed services, athletics, business, education, engineering, electronics, fine arts, government, law, literature, media, medicine, non-profits, performing arts, science, and any other areas of contribution.
Special achievements in the nominee’s specialization.
Honors awards or other recognition received on a local, regional, national, and/or international level.
Community service (if applicable).
Meritorious contributions to society in general or to a specific segment of society.
A statement demonstrating core values of caring, courage, honesty, respect, responsibility, and self-discipline.
